Since 1965, Head Start has played a major role in focusing the attention of the nation on the importance of early childhood development, especially a child's first five years. Throughout this time, Head Start programs have provided hope and support to low-income children and families by providing education, health, social services, parent involvement, parenting education and disability services. The publications, videotapes and other items in this catalog were designed and developed to provide a full and rich variety of materials for Head Start grantees and delegates to use in the planning, management and operation of their programs.
