Who are we?

Head Start Knowlege and Information Management Services (HSKIMS) is a federal information clearinghouse operated as a service of the Office of Head Start.

Our mission is to provide training, guidance and other types of materials and information to Head Start programs and other end users in various professions to promote the provision of Head Start quality services.

Who do we serve?

We serve Head Start grantees, delegates and their community partners; the Office of Head Start, as well as the wider community of organizations working in the interest of children and families.

What services do we provide?

To the Head Start Community:

Manage and distribute Office of Head Start publications and materials.
Provide trained information professionals to answer questions, provide research assistance and help locate other resources.
Provide E-Mail Alerts for Information Memorandums, Links to Literacy, Federal Register notices.
Develop and maintain a full range of print and on-line information services, including Resource Guides, Tool Kits and Internet Pathfinders on various topics.

To the Public:

Respond to inquiries and distribute general information materials about Head Start.
Participate in conferences and outreach activities nationwide to educate new communities about Head Start.

We bring together a highly trained team of information and outreach professionals and distribution management staff. Locate resources on topics impacting Head Start Programs and order Head Start materials on-line.

Take advantage of our expertise in locating research and other materials on Head Start.
