Being a parent is a 24-7 challenging job. Today, parents need to find useful sources of information in order to make the best decisions for all aspects of their children's development.
The Internet Pathfinder is intended to assist Head Start programs, their partners, and the larger Head Start community locate electronic resources for parents and those who work with them. Developed by the Head Start Information and Publication Center's Information Services and Web Development teams, the pathfinder was totally reevaluated and revised in January, 2003.
The pathfinder is a launch pad. It introduces a selection of the wealth of materials available on the Internet that can help parents guide their children's development .
The topics covered include:
different types of Child Care
and how to evaluate them
the stages of Child Development
techniques to support young children's Education
resources to meet the challenges and joys of
Fatherhood
good Health practices
what young children need for good Mental
Health
Parenting guides
ways to insure young children's Safety
identification of resources and services for
children with Special Needs

with young children.
