Community Technology Centers with the U.S. Dept. of Education

     Community Technology Centers promote the development of model programs that demonstrate the educational effectiveness of technology in urban and rural areas and economically distressed communities. They provide access to information technology and related learning services to children and adults.

Federal Interagency Coordinating Council

     The Federal Interagency Coordinating Council assures that all children ages zero to eight with or at risk for developing disabilities and their families benefit from an integrated, seamless system of services and supports that is family centered, community based, and culturally competent. Head Start is a member of the FICC.

National Partners

Head Start Higher Education Hispanic Service Project (Portland Community College):

      Provides professional development in culturally appropriate early childhood to Head Start teachers, teacher assistants, classroom staff, home visitors and other staff through a tiered program that allows individuals to earn CDAs, Level II certificates and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education.

Head Start Partnerships with Tribally Controlled Land Grant Colleges and Universities:

     Works to improve the quality and long term effectiveness of Head Start and Early Head Start Programs funded through the American Indian Programs Branch.

Hilton/Early Head Start Training Program:

     Helps professionals and family members involved in Early Head Start (EHS) and Migrant Head Start (MHS) programs develop skills and strategies for working with infants and toddlers who have significant disabilities.

Indian Health Services (IHS):

     Provides federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives.

     A society in which all people are equitably empowered by technology skills and usage is the mission. In an increasingly technologically dominated society, people who are socially and/or economically disadvantaged will become further disadvantaged if they lack access to computers and computer-related technologies. CTCNet currently operates over 300 centers nationwide.
