Comments were overwhelmingly positive on the Program Performance Standards. They praised the standards' clarity, flexibility, multi-cultural sensitivity, and responsiveness to the many issues expressed in the public consultation process, and the standards' comprehensiveness with respect to best practices and quality programming across the service areas.
A large number of commenters liked the reorganization of the standards into the three major sections of Early Childhood Development and Health Services, Family and Community Partnerships, and Program Design and Management, as well as the presentation of a single set of integrated standards to address the needs of children ages birth to five years.
A sampling of issues raised included the following:
